Got an email today from
WoWaccountreviewEU@blizzard.com advising they have strong evidence to suggest my account is being sold or traded and that I needed to verify it to prevent it from being canceled. I started to do this (which included logging in with my user name and password) but had to stop because it needed the game key thing on the back of the game packet and that was at home. My partner (Erebus) googled it and found that it is a hoax to get info from WoW accounts and get this - after we realised it was a scam I re-read the email and at the bottom there was a little tiny line that said
No, this email's not real, it's http://deadfake.com I have changed my WoW password and also all my passwords where they were the same or similar to my WoW account so hopefully they won't get anything from me!
I'll paste the actual email here too but just wanted to give you the facts first!
Greetings,
An investigation of your World of Warcraft account has found strong evidence that the account in question is being sold or traded.
As you may not be aware of, this conflicts with Blizzard's EULA under section 4 Paragraph B which can be found here:
WoW -> Legal -> End User License Agreement
and Section 8 of the Terms of Use found here:
WoW -> Legal -> Terms of Use
The investigation will be continued by Blizzard administration to determine the action to be taken against your account.
If your account is found violating the EULA and Terms of Use, your account can, and will be suspended/closed/or terminated.
In order to keep this from occurring, you should immediately verify that you are the original owner of the account.
To verify your identity please visit the following webpage:
https://www.wow-europe.com/login/login?service=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.wow-europe.com%2Faccount%2Findex.htmlOnly Account Administration will be able to assist with account retrieval issues.
Thank you for your time and attention to this matter, and your continued interest in World of Warcraft.
Sincerely,
Account Administration
Blizzard Entertainment
